Transmutation

Sacrifice 5 identical craftable items of the same rarity on the altar and receive 1 item back — either one step higher on success, or one step lower on failure. It is the main way to push spare gear up the rarity chain without relying only on rarity gems.

⚗️ The Idea

Every hunt drops more plain gear than you will ever wear. Transmutation turns that surplus into a gamble with a clear outcome: five copies of the same piece become one piece on the next rarity step — or fall one step if the altar fails.

5 → 1items per attempt
C → R → E → L → Mrarity chain (no Uncommon)
Mythiccannot be sacrificed
Only craftable equipment counts. The altar only accepts items that exist in the crafting list, with no upgrade level and no socketed divine gem. Equipped gear and locked items never enter.

🪟 Opening the Altar

Use the Transmutation item (or the marked altar tile in the world) to open the window. Drag a valid item from your backpack onto the altar slot — the client reads its rarity and asks the server how many matching copies you have.

  • Items must be inside a backpack or bag. Equipped pieces are rejected.
  • The five copies must share the same item type and the same rarity.
  • Depot contents are not used — withdraw first.

🎲 Success Chances

The chance shown in the module depends on the rarity of the five items you sacrifice. On success you receive 1 item one step higher. On failure you receive 1 item one step lower (Common is the floor — failing five Commons still returns one Common).

Common can also be sacrificed (same 25% display as Rare) to try for Rare. Mythic is the top of the chain and cannot be placed on the altar.

💎 Aetherion Stone

Optional insurance from the store. Toggle it on before you transmute:

  • The stone is consumed on every attempt (success or fail).
  • It does not change the success chance.
  • On failure only, it salvages 2 extra copies of the original rarity on top of the downgraded result — so you lose 5, keep 1 downgraded + 2 of the old rarity.
Without the stone, a failure destroys all five inputs and leaves only the single downgraded piece.
